Welcome everyone to a special post that is focused on one of my hobbies, movies and TV shows.
I love all kind of movies and TV shows and have a very unique, at least a different perspective and reason as to why I like certain shows or movies.
Any one that knows me, can recall how I enjoy reviewing movies and shows and adding my point of view. I have decided to let the rest of you in on how my mind perceives it all, since this is Nanni's Thoughts. (chuckle)
Without further ado, here is my review on a Netflix Original "Memories of Alhambra".

For the past couple of years, my wife has enjoyed multiple Korean drama's, to which I was not as interested in from the beginning but got hooked on due to great story lines and amazing actors. One of those actresses is Park Shin-Hye, who stars in this show.
Synopsis
This story centers on a young CEO Yoo Jin-Woo (Hyun-Bin) who received a call and email from an AR (Augmented Reality) programmer, Jung Se-Joo (Chanyeol), to meet him in Granada, Spain concerning the game he created. His Journey starts when he arrives to Hostel Bonita and meets Se-Joo's sister, Jung Hee-Joo (Park Shin-Hye), who manages the Hostel.
In Granada is when the fun begins. Yoo Jin-Woo goes to this plaza and puts on these contacts, which at first you think they are prescription, but then a blue light turns on and you see him enter the VR world.
Review
Honestly, I was hooked on to the show since the trailer. It really caught my attention as it already showed it was going to be about an AR game that would include you having to explore the city and actual places, which is an awesome idea.
I loved how it already started with a twist, and the question you ask yourself the whole time, what happened to Jung Se-Joo? He initiated the story calling Yoo Jin-Woo, but then disappeared. It makes Yoo Jin-Woo's mission to locate what happened to him.
However, the biggest twist of the story is when Yoo meets up with his rival Cha Hyung-Seok (Park Hoon), who used to be part of the same company until Cha's father forced him to leave. Cha created another rival company and was already playing the AR game and was more advanced than Yoo. Yoo didn't let that stop him and he caught up and when they finally battled each other in the game, Yoo got the upper hand and won the duel. He left thinking that he had just defeated his rival, but, a glitch in the game made Cha come up dead with no known reason as to why.
Yoo realized there was a problem with the game as in every occasion Cha (who is now deceased) would constantly appear in the game.
That twist was crazy!!! I was like what??!! and immediately guessed that there was a glitch in the system.
Due to this glitch, Yoo had to figure out two things, 1) what happened to Se-Joo, and 2) how to fix the glitch. What was even more cool was that as Yoo kept upgrading levels, you could see that that the enemies and the quest would be more challenging.
The journey to complete his objectives had many roadblocks. His boss, Cha's father Cha Byung-Joon (Kim Eui-Sung), didn't believe that he was seeing his deceased son in the game and sent him away to protect the company. But as Yoo tried to continue with the game, Byung-Joon was ready to cut him off and remove him from the company, like he did with his own son.
Not to spoil more of the show, let's just say that Yoo came up with a clever plan to show his boss the reality that he was living so he could allow him to complete the quest he was on. It worked.
The whole story kept you on the edge of your seat wanting to know when he was going to complete the quest and if he was going to complete it without any further casualties. However, his assistant, Seo Jung-Hoon(Min Jin-Woong), decided to help him in the game, but ended with the same fate as Cha, but not by Yoo's hand, by the games. Which was a sad fate as he was a very supportive assistant.
As Yoo finally gets close to the end and realizes how he must fix and reboot the game, he realized it comes with a great cost. However, not wanting to disappoint his friend Park Sun-Ho (Lee Seung-Joon), who was now in charge of the company, he continued so that the game could make the company a profit since they had already invested so much on the game.
Now when Yoo has to fix the game, it really brought a tear to my eye. Just watch the scene in the church and you will understand. Well, unless you are not sensitive like me, then maybe you won't understand. lol
The ending left you with a cliffhanger and hopes to a possible second season. If not, a hope that it turned out as a happy encounter.
The fact that the whole game was very interactive and consisted of your location was a good idea for an actual game. You even got the logistics part of the game as once the game was out, restrictions had to be made to when and where you can play the game as people were coming out hurt or hurting others due to playing the game. Very realistic outcome to the game.
I very much enjoyed this show and would recommend it to all of you.
